You Are A Visionary Too, Aren’t You?

Tamarisk’s note – This is a guest post from Tancie Trail. I met Tancie last November in New York and let me tell you, she’s a firecracker. I love her energy and her vibrancy. I invited her to guest post for us today and tell us about something super-cool that she’s up to.

The idea that little ‘ole me could be a visionary was quite foreign to me for a while, but today, I easily choose a visionary mindset daily. And you can too.

Many of us have grand misconceptions of what a visionary is supposed to be, but in reality, the process of being born and growing up, or individual maturity, is the visionaries journey. “Able to see what the future can or will be like” is the simplest definition I’ve found.

What we are able to see and how we see determines the life we get to live. Whether we are conscious of it or not, we are thinking and seeing our realities into existence every moment of every day, and have been our whole lives. Pretty cool right?

Unless it isn’t. If your life isn’t turning up roses, you may not think it cool at all. Logic would suggest, if you are not liking your results in life, envision your life anew! Yet…. as you may have noticed again, it’s not quite that easy.

The way I can now see it, we are born, raised through experiences, then are meant to take full responsibility for ourselves, often needing to see things from a whole new perspective in order to successfully do so. It is in this process of taking self responsibility that we become the visionaries of our own lives, able to think about or plan for our futures with imagination and wisdom.

But I didn’t always see it this way – oh no. I avoided the simplicity of that route for over 20 years every way I could, creating new ways when I ran out of old ones, taking sharp turns off the track of self responsibility, and ending up, time and again in a familiar place I now call my victim hood.

You must see life differently, to see a different life

Looking back, I no longer question why, cause hindsight is 20/20, yet for decades I spent loads of energy in the ‘why’ of my life. My early years were spent in fear and traumatized at times from passionate parents who did not always get along.

For some of us, this type of life experience rocks our core in a way that creates mental, emotional or physical blocks. These blocks can prevent us from creating our own success as we move out into the world. I’ve found that regardless of the source of our trauma, once we get to a certain age, we’ve each had enough damage done to our nervous system to need some sort of healing to continue to create success and to age with grace and ease.

When the trauma runs deep, causing you to sabotage your life opportunities on multiple levels, healing at the core level is often needed. It’s a turning point, foundational in allowing us to see that all life experiences bear gifts, and lessons, no matter what the circumstances are or were. The new perspective that comes from healing allows us to see life clearly, our selves clearly and to create a success filled future that will bring us true joy.

” You are born to be a success, yet you are programmed to remain where you are.” _ D. Neagle

The more that you have had to protect or defend yourself from in life, the more resilient your victim mentality can become, as a safety mechanism. That mentality will then perpetuate to protect itself – to survive. Our job is to strengthen and power up our inner visionary so it overrides our victim, allowing us to drop disempowered mentality loops and move ON!

The victim mentality is always inherited from the home, life experiences and the collective consciousness. It thrives at the sub conscious level and can wreak havoc on our attempts at true personal success when left unchecked.

On the opposite end of that spectrum sits the Visionary Mindset, which is always chosen. It’s a chosen set of empowered thoughts, beliefs, perspectives, ideas and actions that one must aligned with at the core level, committed to, then re-committed to again daily.

No one is born ‘to suffer’. It is simply not the case. (Italics mine, I love this statement!)

Too often we attend retreats or read life-changing books, only to find months later that life-change has not taken place. Old patterns resurface, and core issues remain unresolved. We can easily embrace new concepts on a conversational level, yet lasting change at our core can only happen when we make permanent shifts to how we perceive life, ourselves and others at the subconscious level.

Your life is entirely in your hands, so you get to choose, victim or visionary. I’ve outlived my victim mentality, and am so loud and proud about it that I’ve devoted an entire business to it.
